Four Fabulous Bathrooms With Wainscoting

Add some wainscoting to a room, and suddenly you have a room that’s something special. This is especially true in the bathroom, where normally we just make do either with painted walls, or perhaps by adding tiles to the lower part of the wall.

But wainscoting adds a new texture to a bathroom, giving it more visual appeal. Plus the wainscoting protects the walls from humidity and splashes.

We like how bead board in particular can give a bathroom a lovely, country or vintage look.

Take a look at these bathrooms with bead board wainscoting– all designed for Kohler, the maker of fine bathroom and kitchen fixtures.

We like how the wainscoting was brought out a couple of inches below the mirror to create a shelf. The extra tall baseboard looks nice, too.

The dark floor and frame around the mirror creates a very appealing contrast against the bead board wainscoting.

Wainscoting is especially good in a kids’ bathroom, where the wall might be more prone to splashes and wet hands.

Note the cutaway in the wainscoting to create a towel shelf in the photo below. We like how the bead board looks against the circular patterned floor tile.
